Groundwater sits close enough to the surface on most Clearwater lots that pier and support systems have to be planned around it, not just around the sandy soil and porous limestone bedrock underneath -- get the water table wrong and even a well-installed system underperforms.

- What was measured, and whether the slab or the soil under it is moving
- Whether a plumbing leak beneath the slab is feeding the problem
- How a high water table on flat ground factors into the diagnosis
- The repair method and the alternatives weighed against it
- Permits, access through finished space, restoration, and warranty

Pier and support needs vary across Clearwater's housing mix -- older coastal cottages, postwar concrete-block ranches, barrier-island homes, condo-corridor units, and contemporary infill all carry different structural histories.
